Quick Guide to Your Affiliate Marketing Career

Okay, we all know that any good endeavor done right might become life-changing; that same goes when starting an affiliate marketing career.

And understand too that there are still several projects to work with this. Examples are building an affiliate website or blog and writing content intended to help others. Or start a YouTube channel with useful video content.

Affiliate marketing is not just another opportunity to make little money online. It’s an exciting career if you’ll ask me!

Even if you don’t own a product or service to sell online, as an affiliate marketer, you’re still building a business that could become lucrative in the long run, keep that in mind.

But like any business, you need to gain the right skills and knowledge to grow on this path. You also have to commit yourself to perform the tasks required.

Don’t let other gurus lure you to the idea that you can make a six-figure income without working your butt just by joining their expensive courses.

There are legitimate courses available online, and it’s a fact. But there are also scammers, so beware.

Anyone can grow their affiliate marketing career up to that six to seven-digit income that we all aspire to have.

But before we can see significant success, it will take some time. Even though it’s simple, you still have to expect some obstacles along the way, especially if you’ve never done this before. You’ll be needing a stockpile of perseverance.

So before you decide on quitting your job and make a career in affiliate marketing, let me give some essential tips for you to have a solid ground to stand.

Find a reputable company to sign up as an affiliate.

Joining hands with companies as an affiliate.

Most of the time, many companies have an affiliate program where you can sign up for free. Just know that some will ask for some requirements for you to join hands with them.

There are affiliate programs I prefer where you can start with your journey if you aspire to become an affiliate marketer yourself.

Amazon Associates and eBay Partner Network can be an excellent option to begin. Here, you don’t have to worry about how you’ll ship the physical products you are promoting to your customers. These companies will do that for you.

All you have to do is do what you are good at doing, promoting.

But if you’re like me who prefers selling digital goods and services, I suggest going with ClickBank and JVZoo.

If you want to cater to the Asian populace with diversified products to sell, Involve Asia and Cuelinks are the go-to affiliate program sites. Both of them houses lots of advertisers that are in hundreds in number and still growing.

Just a special note for Involve Asia, be an active publisher (i.e., Influencer, Youtuber, Blogger) or an advertiser yourself to use their platform fully.

Here is how you can sign up with them. I know that the title differs from what I describe it here. But trust me, to sign up with Involve Asia’s program first means you can become a Shopee affiliate after.

And if your one of my fellow Juans who wants to cater to the people of the Philippines, then you can stick with being a Lazada Affiliate. Again, the process is going through to Involve Asia first. I laid out the instructions HERE.

If you’re interested in signing up with Lazada, then here is my post that can serve as your guide.

Drive traffic to your affiliate offers.

Not just traffic, but the quality ones; and without them, you won’t make money. It’s the only way, and you need continuous streams of it towards your offers to reap the rewards.

I will suggest three free methods.

First, use social media platforms. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are a few examples of these platforms where you can use to your advantage.

If you’ve already accumulated a considerable number of followers, promoting a product or service will not be a hassle.

If you have had no followers yet, then you have to work out on it, double time!

Second is easy and obvious nowadays for people who want a slice of the pie on the internet. It is setting up a YouTube channel.

Just don’t be like everybody else who shoots videos to entertain. It’s not that there is something wrong about it. It’s just that for me, it’s a waste of time to make a video topping off someone else’s current challenge.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon of generic YouTubers, it’s better to make videos that can entertain but should be helpful at the same time.

Helpful in a way that you are giving away useful information related to your affiliate offers.

Third, set up a blog or website. It might not be free to build a good one, but at least it’s a cheaper way to advertise your offers. And unlike the first two examples, having a blog is way better.

Here, you’ll also create content, only in written form.

A blog is an excellent way to find organic traffic.

You can keep that traffic coming as long as you keep on creating valuable content.

But like any other way of generating free but quality traffic, using your blog to drive them to your offers will also take time, so have patience.

If you’re interested and need a guide to set up a blog, here’s my post for that.

Build an email list and cement that affiliate marketing career.

Email list for a successful affiliate marketing career.

The fact remains that people clicking your offers won’t immediately purchase. And when we talk about those people visiting your website, most of them might never come back.

The solution? Give them a little encouragement to subscribe to your email list. Again, not all will comply, but that’s okay.

Because of so many scammers scattered around the internet, people nowadays became uncomfortable sharing any bits of information to strangers.

Luckily, we’re not those types of scammers. In any business and even in life itself, practice the principle of the famous author that says, “there is no such thing as something for nothing.”

Give them a promise that in return for their nicknames (if they are that too uncomfortable) and their emails, you’ll give them a free report or eBook.

Give them also the heads up that you’ll send them emails now and then with useful content inside.

Have an autoresponder ready. Set it up and make it work for you. This way, you can keep in touch with your subscribers even when you’re busy with your business.

The important thing here is you are building trust.

They might not have an interest in your offers at the moment, but who knows? They could turn into a raving fan of yours and buy anything that you will endorse!
